Under the Workers' Rights Act 2019, subject to certain exceptions contained in s 18.2 of the Act, where an employer terminates the employee's contract, the employer is required to pay a severance allowance to the employee who has been in continuous employment for a period of not less than 12 continuous months where the employee has been:
