The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has announced a £68m funding commitment to unlock disused brownfield sites. This funding will be allocated to 54 councils, enabling them to transform neglected land into new homes. It forms part of the government’s plans to boost the economy and create jobs. Through the Brownfield Land Release Fund, councils will be able to cover the cost of decontamination, clearing disused buildings, and improving infrastructure such as internet, water, and power. As a result, land will be released to enable the construction of 5,200 homes across the country
