140  Community charge benefit finance

(1)ÌýÌýÌýÌý For each year the Secretary of State shall pay a subsidy (to be known as [council tax benefit subsidy]) to each [billing authority] and to each [local authority in Scotland].

(2)ÌýÌýÌýÌý The amount of [council tax benefit subsidy to be paid to a billing authority] or a [local authority in Scotland] for a year shall be calculated in such manner as may be specified by an order made by the Secretary of State.

(3)ÌýÌýÌýÌý Any calculation under subsection (2) above shall be made by reference
