23  Appeal from social security appeal tribunal to Commissioner

(1)ÌýÌýÌýÌý Subject to the provisions of this section, an appeal lies to a Commissioner from any decision of a social security appeal tribunal under section 22 above on the ground that the decision of the tribunal was erroneous in point of law.

(2)ÌýÌýÌýÌý In the case of statutory sick pay or statutory maternity pay an appeal lies under this section at the instance of any of the following—

(a)ÌýÌýÌýÌý an adjudication officer;

(b)ÌýÌýÌýÌý the employee concerned;

(c)ÌýÌýÌýÌý the employer concerned;

(d)ÌýÌýÌýÌý a trade union, where—

(i)ÌýÌýÌýÌý the employee is a member of the union at the time of the appeal and was so immediately before the question at issue arose; or

(ii)ÌýÌýÌýÌý the question at issue is a question as to or in connection with entitlement
