Part 1 Amendments

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (c 52)

The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 is amended as follows.

(1)     Section 15 (duration of orders etc under section 14) is amended as follows.

(2)     In subsection (3)—

(a)     for “Secretary of Stateâ€, in both places, substitute “national authorityâ€, and

(b)     in paragraph (b) for “that authority†substitute “the authority that made the temporary orderâ€.

(3)     In subsection (4)—

(a)     for “Secretary of State†substitute “national authorityâ€,

(b)     omit “himselfâ€,

(c)     for “he†substitute “the national authorityâ€, and

(d)     for “that authority†substitute “the authority that made the temporary orderâ€.

(4)     In subsections (5), (6) and (7) for “Secretary of Stateâ€, in each place, substitute “national authorityâ€.

(1)     Section 16 (supplementary provision as to orders etc under section 14) is amended as follows.

(2)     In subsection (2) for “Secretary of State†substitute “national authorityâ€.

(3)     In subsection (2A)—

(a)     for “Secretary of State†substitute “national authorityâ€, and

(b)     for “he†substitute “the national authorityâ€.

In section 17 (traffic regulation on special roads)—

(a)     omit subsection (3ZD),
