40  Acquisition of land: provisions as to parking places

(1)     A local authority may be authorised by the Secretary of State to purchase compulsorily land for the purposes of sections 32, 33(4)(a) and 34 of this Act; and the Acquisition of Land Act 1981, or as the case may be, the Acquisition of Land (Authorisation Procedure) (Scotland) Act 1947
