SCHEDULE 2 Meaning of Biometric Information

Immigration Act 1971 (c 77)

1

(1)     Schedule 2 to the Immigration Act 1971 (entry control) is amended as follows.

(2)     In paragraph 4(5)—

(a)     after “provide†insert “biometricâ€;

(b)     omit from “about his external physical characteristics†to the end.

(3)     After paragraph 4(5) insert—

“(6)     Biometric information†has the meaning given by section 15 of the UK Borders Act 2007.â€

(4)     In paragraph 18(2A), for “fingerprints†substitute “biometric information (within the meaning given by section 15 of the UK Borders Act 2007)â€.
