A local licence1 may be renewed2 on one occasion for a period of 12 years beginning with the date of renewal3. No such application for the renewal of a local licence may be made before Ofcom4 first publishes a notice5 inviting applications for a licence6 to provide a relevant local radio multiplex service7. Subject to this, such an application for the renewal of a local licence may be made by the licence holder8 not earlier than three years before the date on which it would otherwise cease to be in force9 and not later than the day falling three months before the relevant date10.
