Launched in 1985, Counsel is the monthly journal of the Bar of England and Wales. As the Bar’s own magazine, it is largely written by and for barristers but it is of interest to all lawyers.

A distinguished editorial board, mainly drawn from the ranks of practising barristers, work closely with the editorial team to produce a vibrant monthly magazine. With a distribution to 24,000 barristers, Counsel is one of the largest circulation legal magazines in the UK.
