1st November 2018 - NO THURSDAY MEETING THIS WEEK

Please remember that is is All Souls (Saints) Day on 1st November and is an important day especially in the Spanish calendar so we will not be holding our normal Thursday meeting. Our next meeting will be Thursday 8th November.

Upcoming Social events

The Shopping trip to IKEA and Primark is on Wednesday 7th November - The shopping trip needs to have 40 people, so please tell your friends and let’s see if we can fill the coach. If members wish to come on the shopping trip or the trip to Valencia you must book as soon as possible.
The Valencian trip is on Tuesday 20th November - The Christmas Party is on Friday 7th December - The Christmas Fayre is on Thursday 13th December. We need cakes, bottles jars, tins, unwanted gifts or anything you think we might like for the Christmas Fayre

Autumn News

We are hoping to arrange a visit to our lovely students in their school in Valencia this autumn, and have suggested to them a date of 21 November. More news when we have confirmation. The Autumn Fayre would be on 13th December and volunteers are needed for the stalls and any suggestions for other stalls would be welcome. Stalls include a new kitchen stall containing cookery books and kitchen equipment, Tombola, Bric a brac, Books, Raffle and Jewelllery. An important event to support as we need to raise funds to continue our important work in the community.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - EXTRA ORDINARY GENERAL MEETING 19TH APRIL 2018

Because of the recent resignation of our President we are holding an Extra Ordinary General Meeting AT THE JOSÉ LLORCA CENTRE, BENIDORM ON THURSDAY 19TH APRIL 2018 AT 11.00 am. All fully paid up members are requested to attend. If you are unable to attend then please contact a member of the Committee with an apology for absence. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT so that we can achieve a quorum.

HELP AGM 8th February 2018 - a short report

Our outgoing President, Sylvia said a big thank you to all - " Geoff for the accounts which must be one big headache; Anne who has writers’ cramp; Jenny for stepping in on last minute emergencies; Pearl who had to resign thank you for all the service you have given us for many years; Pat for organizing all the interpreting and all the interpreters for their hard work; Eileen for renewal of subscriptions and welcoming new members; Rob for all the monies he has raised with the raffle and outside activities; Marilyn for organizing all social events and coach trips which have been a great success

BREXIT Meeting at Centro Social La Torretta Rincon de Loix, Benidorm on Tuesday 20th Feb 2018 at 12:00pm

The British Consul for Alicante, Sarah-Jane Morris, is coming for an open meeting to talk to British nationals about any concerns they have relating to Brexit. Any British nationals who want to find out more about how Brexit might affect them and what they can do to prepare are very welcome to attend this open meeting.
The event and venue details are: Centro Social La Torretta Rincon de Loix, Benidorm on Tuesday 20th Feb 2018 at 12:00pm
Sarah-Jane Morris will give a short talk to update British nationals on the information that is currently available and will then take questions.

AGM HELP BENIDORM - THURSDAY 8TH FEBRUARY 2018

Would all Help members note that it is our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, 8th February 2018, to be held at the José Lorca Llinares Social Centre, Benidorm (our usual meeting place). Please register your arrival from 10.30 am as the meeting will start promptly at 11 am. If you have any items for the agenda or Any other business, please notify us at least a week before the meeting.

Summer Break - but we will still be here!!!!

Hi all - it was our last main meeting yesterday, 29th June, before the summer break and meetings will recommence on 7th September 2017. However, am pleased to say that we will continue to meet up informally for a get together each Thursday throughout the summer at the Social Centre at 11.00 am. Look forward to a coffee (or a cold drink) and a chat.

D Day Lunch Tuesday 6th June 2017

We are holding a lunch and sing-song at The Peppermill on Tuesday 6th June at 1 pm, marking D Day. The cost is €13.50 including a tip, and it should be a lovely afternoon. Please book with Marilyn as soon as possible. Please bring all your friends. Next week(commencing 29 May) is the last week for booking and paying.
